Natural gas pipes will be laid on the 170-kilometer line for the transportation of 540 billion cubic meters of natural gas located in the Black Sea, to land. A ceremony is expected to be held on June 13 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to launch the pipes. On the other hand, pipeline laying works have also started on land to connect natural gas to the main distribution line.
An important stage has been reached in the process of extracting 540 billion cubic meters of natural gas located in the Black Sea, heralded by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The ship named "Castoro 10" which to lay natural gas pipes on the 170-kilometer line from the sea, has crossed the Dardanelles Strait and reached the port of Filyos.
WORK WILL BEGIN ON THE 170-KILOMETER LINE ON JUNE 13
The natural gas pipes stored at the TPAO site at Filyos Port will be placed on the seabed along a distance of 170 kilometers via the ship Castoro-10 as of June 13. In the project, where 6 thousand activities are carried out at the same time, pipe laying works on land are underway simultaneously for the transportation of gas to the main line.
During the work conducted with 4,200 personnel, 13 other ships also provide logistic support to the Fatih, Kanuni and Yavuz Drilling Vessels to obtain the gas.
On June 4, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had said that with the discovery of a new natural gas of 135 billion cubic meters, the total gas discovery in the Black Sea had reached 540 billion cubic meters. The President had made this announcement about the discovery of a new 135 billion cubic meter natural gas at the Opening Ceremony of the Filyos Port and the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Natural gas Processing Plants.
