The Antalya Airport's international terminal will be expanded to 224,000 square meters, while the domestic terminal will increase to 75,000 square meters. As a result, the airport's annual passenger capacity will reach 82 million.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the opening of the new terminal buildings at Antalya Airport would be held on April 12, 2025, with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Providing information about the expansion works at Antalya Airport, Minister Uraloğlu said, "The number of aircraft parking positions, which was 108, has increased to 176 with the new apron areas. The existing VIP Terminal has been expanded from 690 square meters to 2,000 square meters, and the General Aviation Terminal has grown from 1,200 square meters to 2,800 square meters. Additionally, a new 2,000-square-meter State Guesthouse, a 5,000-square-meter DHMİ Service Building, and staff housing have been opened."
Passenger Capacity to Reach 82 Million
Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that the terminal expansion works were nearing completion, stating, "We are expanding the existing 90,143-square-meter international terminal to 224,000 square meters, and the 36,859-square-meter domestic terminal to 75,000 square meters. This will increase the airport's annual passenger capacity from 35 million to 82 million."
Antalya Airport Served 39.2 Million Passengers in 2024
Minister Uraloğlu noted that the construction works had not affected the region’s transportation and tourism activities. He added, "Our airport continues to provide uninterrupted service with all necessary construction precautions as per national and international regulations. By the end of 2024, we served 45,351 flights and 6,242,379 passengers on domestic flights and 188,748 flights and 32,988,354 passengers on international flights. In total, we served 234,099 flights and 39,230,733 passengers."
