Turkey to grant visa exemptions to citizens of United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Poland for touristic travel as of 2 March 2020.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hami Aksoy has announced Turkey aims to further develop tourism potential, commercial, economic and cultural relations by providing visa exemption to citizens of Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom on their touristic travels to the country.
Spokesman Aksoy replied to a question about Turkey providing some European countries with visa exemption in written.
The statement said, "It has been decided to provide visa exemption to citizens of European Union (EU) Schengen zone member countries such as Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom on their travel to Turkey for tourism purposes as of 2 March 2020.
The statement also said this visa would be applicable for a period of 90 days, every 180 days.
Aksoy also explained that Turkey targeted to increase the tourism potential with referred countries as well as further develop commercial, economic and cultural relations.
Turkey has been a most favorable country for tourists coming from the UK mainly as well as the Netherlands, Germany and others in recent years. In fact many citizens from said countries have even decided to buy a home settle down in this country.
This situation certainly contributes to the economy of Turkey as well as the improvement of relations with referred countries.
