Turkey and the UK have made significant positive strides in mutual cooperation, particularly over the past 20 years. The two countries continue to support each other in various areas. As a result, mutual trade is also benefiting from these positive developments.
Accordingly, Turkey reached its highest export level to the UK during the January-August period, with exports totalling $8.3 billion. Turkey's total exports increased by 3.9% compared to the same period last year, reaching $170.8 billion.
10.8% Increase in Exports
Turkey's exports to the UK rose by 10.8% compared to the same period last year, making a significant contribution to the country's overall export figures. The UK became Turkey's third-largest export market.
Top Export Destinations
In the first eight months, Turkey exported $12 billion to Germany, $8.8 billion to the US, $7.6 billion to Italy, and $6.8 billion to Iraq. During this period, Germany remained Turkey's largest export market.
Automotive Sector in the Lead
The automotive sector led Turkey's exports to the UK with $2.7 billion, followed by the electrical and electronics sector with $1.1 billion. Ready-made garments and textiles accounted for $982.1 million, chemical products and derivatives $578.2 million, and the steel sector $427.3 million in exports.

The automotive, electrical-electronics, and ready-made garments sectors played a crucial role in Turkey's export growth to the UK.
