Thomas Cook of UK founded in 1841 is one of the giant companies in tourism business with a considerable turnover in Turkey as well. The company has announced that in 2019 it will open 20 new hotels to be operated under its own brand in Turkey, Greece and Spain. This announcement was published on the official web page of the company.
The statement said 3 of said hotels would be put into operation in Turkey with 6 hotels in Spain and 4 in Greece. The company which organizes holidays in a total of 3,000 hotels from the Mediterranean to Caribbean plans to increase its capacity to 40,000 rooms in 200 hotels with the additional projects to come in time.
Just to remind, Turkey is among the most favorable holiday destinations for tourists from the UK and that is the reason why Turkey has found a place among target markets of priority for Thomas Cook. In the information provided by the company on its official web page a few details such as the locations were provided regarding two of the facilities to be opened in Turkey.
The hotel in operation in Marmaris under the name COOK’S CLUB ADAKOY MARMARIS will offer facilities such as football, tennis, volleyball fields, diving center and provide services with 130 rooms.
On the other hand another hotel already in service in Alanya under the name COOK’S CLUB will be renovated. This facility has 115 rooms and possesses the advantage of being located very close to Cleopatra Beach.
In the meantime it is reported that the company has removed nine hotels that could not reach the quality standards of the brand, from its portfolio.
When looked at the issue from Turkey’s point of view it is a major indication that the future of Turkey’s tourism sector is promising again after a slowdown a while ago due to major political and economic reasons which the country has managed to cope with successfully.
