Turkey remains the number one holiday route for citizens living in European countries where post-coronavirus quarantine rules have damaged tourism. According to some British media, most British tourists will prefer Turkey in the autumn due to quarantine rules imposed in Spain, Portugal and France. 30 per cent of calls made in the UK from September 8 to September 15 were about holidays in Turkey.
It seems that Brits planning holidays for the last time before a new quarantine have turned their eyes to Turkey. Based on data provided by Travel Supermarket the most popular destinations for holiday searches are Marmaris, Oludeniz and Datça. On the other hand, from September 8 to September 15, 30 percent of inquiries were about holidays in Turkey.
To support this data, tourism experts believe “2021 will be a bright year” as Turkey has stood out in the pandemic.
According to said survey, the first 3 places were taken Antalya and its surroundings (Alanya, Lara, Belek, Kas, Kemer, Kalkan, Side, Beldibi), Dalaman and its surroundings (Marmaris, Oludeniz, Icmeler, Fethiye, Turunc) and Istanbul. These places in Turkey were followed by the Greek islands of Corfu and Rhodes, as well as the Italian capital of Rome and the island of Cyprus.
The reason for these findings is because Turkey is better off in the Kovid-19 outbreak and it is on the list the UK has declared, showing countries exempt from quarantine. The vice president of the Association of Tourist Hoteliers and Operators (of the South Aegean) has said that Turkey stands out very much, especially with the measures it took during the pandemic period adding following: "The demand for Turkey has extended until November this year. Normally the demand for Bodrum, Dalaman, Fethiye, Dalyan, Marmaris was until the middle of October. Brits over 50 would go to different locations around the world in October. This year they prefer Turkey. Not only Antalya, but also the Aegean will receive demand by the end of November this year. Tourists over the age of 50 will get to know our country on this occasion. In the coming years, Turkey can become a destination for over-50s and the season can be permanently extended.”
