President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held a video conference call with Tesla and SpaceX Founder Elon Musk. During the meeting, joint steps that could be taken on the lithium batteries of TOGG, Turkey's domestic electric vehicle, were discussed.
According to a statement from the Presidential Communications Presidency, issues related to cooperation between public and private sector institutions and companies in Turkey in different areas, and especially satellite and space technologies were also discussed in the meeting.
During these talks in which the issues of electric autonomous vehicles and the digital economy were also discussed, long-term investments and steps to improve the existing cooperation were evaluated. Joint steps that could be taken on the lithium batteries of TOGG, Turkey's domestic electric vehicle, were also brought to the table.
At the video conference, parties also talked about the launch process of the TURKSAT 5-B satellite into space, after the TURKSAT 5-A satellite had been launched by Turkey into space in January through SpaceX. During the meeting, President Erdogan drew attention to other works that Turkey was doing within the framework of the National Space Program.
Turkey is observed to be very keen on the space program it has decided to put into action together with many other progressive projects in several other areas.
