NEWS Turkey’s Housing Sales Continued To Rise In October 2024

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released October 2024 housing sales data, showing continued growth. Housing sales in Turkey increased by 76.1% in October compared to the same month last year, reaching 165,138 units. The highest sales were in Istanbul, with 24,812 units, followed by Ankara, with 15,257, and Izmir, with 8,658. Hakkari, Bayburt, and Ardahan had the lowest sales, with 76, 97, and 112 units, respectively.

Housing sales rose by 11.9% during January-October 2024

From January to October, housing sales increased by 11.9% year-on-year, totaling 1,112,374 units.

First-hand home sales reached 57,679 

First-hand home sales across Turkey in October rose by 97.3% compared to the same month last year, reaching 57,679 units, making up 34.9% of total home sales. First-hand sales for the January-October period also grew by 20.4% to 358,558 units year-on-year.

Second-hand home sales recorded at 107,459 

In October, second-hand home sales increased by 66.5% year-on-year, reaching 107,459 units and comprising 65.1% of total home sales. From January to October, second-hand home sales grew by 8.3% to 753,816 units compared to the same period last year.

Turkey’s government has implemented many measures to improve the economy, and experts have started observing positive results.
