Based on reports by official agencies, more than 30 million foreign nationals entered Turkey in the first 11 months of 2017.
The data prepared by the General Directorate of Migration Management, according to a survey conducted by the agency managed by the state shows that a total of 30.37 million foreigners came to Turkey in first 11 months while 30.4 million people left the country during the same period.
When compared to figures recorded in 2016, an increase of 5 million in number of visitors is observed as Turkey received 24.7 million visitors in 2016.
The same reports say Russians ranked the first in number of foreigners visiting Turkey via land, air, sea, or rail. Germans took the second place followed by Iranians.
Antalya on the other hand was back on track again with 3.4 million tourists visiting the city by end September which was an all-time high record. This prominent tourism destination on the Mediterranean had suffered tough times in terms of economy when Russia stopped flow of tourism from this country due to a major conflict with Turkey, a while ago. After the rapprochement between 2 countries Russian tourists have started to prefer Antalya region for their holidays.
