Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated that they expected the number of visitors from Saudi Arabia to Turkey to reach 1 million this year.
Attending a panel within the scope of the Turkey-Saudi Arabia Investment and Business Forum organized by DEİK, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy made statements regarding the tourism relations between the two countries.
"We hope that this number will reach 1 million this year, God willing."
Mehmet Nuri Ersoy emphasized the importance of Turkey-Saudi Arabia relations, noting the following; "The tourism relations between the two countries are also going well, which is reflected in the numbers. To give a figure, the number of visitors from Saudi Arabia to Turkey, which was 500,000 in 2022, increased to 820,000 in 2023. We hope that this number will reach 1 million this year."
"Mutual investments will accelerate tourist flow"
Ersoy stated that Turkey had granted visa exemptions to Saudi Arabian citizens, and thanks to this practice, the number of Saudis visiting Turkey would increase even more. Ersoy said, "If Turkey and Saudi Arabia succeed in making mutual tourism investments, this will also accelerate the tourist flow between the two countries. Because it will be much easier for us to market the investments we will make in Saudi Arabia."
"This year, we will start promoting Antalya and the Aegean regions in Saudi Arabia as well."
Ersoy emphasized the following points in his speech: We are changing our promotion policy in Saudi Arabia. In addition to destinations such as Bolu, Düzce, Edirne, and Bursa, we are also adding Antalya and the Aegean Region this year, and these promotions will increase the number of visitors from Saudi Arabia to Turkey.
